Hands-On Azure Labs: Building Redundant Cloud Solutions
Lab 23: Configure Blob Storage Object Replication
Lab Overview
In this lab, you will enable Object Replication between your surfcitywest999 and surfcityeast999 storage accounts, ensuring that objects (e.g., images) uploaded to one region are automatically copied to the other. This replication strategy improves data durability and availability, allowing users to access the same content from geographically distinct locations. By the end of this lab, you will have a robust setup where content uploaded to one location is seamlessly mirrored in the other.
Learning Objectives
- Configure Object Replication between West US and East US storage accounts.
- Understand how to create replication rules for specific containers and prefixes.
- Validate successful replication by testing file uploads and cross-region synchronization.
- Enhance your storage architecture to meet advanced disaster recovery and geo-redundancy requirements.
Exam Relevance
- AZ-104 (Azure Administrator): Demonstrates the ability to configure advanced storage settings and policies for data replication.
- AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect): Illustrates mastery of designing resilient, geo-distributed data solutions that maintain availability and performance under various failure scenarios.
