Hands-On Azure Labs: Building Redundant Cloud Solutions
Lab 6: Configure vNet Peering
Lab Overview
In this lab, you will establish virtual network (vNet) peering between your vNet-West and vNet-East. By enabling secure, high-speed connectivity between these two networks, your resources in the West US and East US regions will be able to communicate as though they were part of a single, unified network. vNet peering is an essential step in laying the groundwork for cross-region accessibility and centralized management of your Azure environment.
Learning Objectives
By completing this lab, you will be able to:
- Understand how Azure vNet peering provides secure, private connections across different virtual networks.
- Configure vNet peering settings to allow mutual communication between vNet-West and vNet-East.
- Validate connectivity and confirm that resources in each region can securely communicate with each other.
- Prepare your environment for centralized services (like Azure Bastion) that can serve multiple networks via a single deployment.
Exam Relevance
This lab covers concepts aligned with:
- AZ-104 (Azure Administrator): Demonstrates your ability to implement and manage Azure networking, including vNet configurations and peering.
- AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect): Reinforces your understanding of designing secure and scalable multi-region Azure network solutions.
