Hands-On Azure Labs: Building Redundant Cloud Solutions

Lab 5: Deploy NAT-East Gateway

[yasr_visitor_votes]

Lab Overview

In this lab, you will mirror the NAT gateway deployment from the previous lab by creating and configuring a NAT gateway for the East US region (NAT-East). This ensures that virtual machines in Subnet-East also benefit from secure, consistent outbound internet access without exposing public IP addresses on individual hosts. By completing this lab, you will finalize the core network architecture required for multi-region deployments.

Learning Objectives

By completing this lab, you will be able to:

    • Deploy a NAT gateway and associate it with Subnet-East.
    • Configure a public IP resource to maintain consistent outbound connections from the East US region.
    • Maintain a uniform, secure outbound connectivity pattern across both West US and East US environments.
    • Prepare your infrastructure for future labs that require internet-bound traffic from each region.

Exam Relevance

Configuring multi-region NAT gateways is crucial for:

    • AZ-104 (Azure Administrator): Validates your ability to manage and secure network traffic in different Azure regions.
    • AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect): Demonstrates your capacity to architect distributed network solutions and design secure, reliable egress strategies.
