Hands-On Azure Labs: Building Redundant Cloud Solutions
Lab 1: Deploy the Lab Resource Group
Lab Overview
In this lab, you will create an Azure Resource Group, which serves as the foundational container to organize all of the cloud resources you’ll deploy throughout the project. By defining a single resource group, you centralize management, cost tracking, security policies, and lifecycle operations for everything built in this environment. By the end of this lab, you will have established the core building block that will support future labs, ensuring you can administer and monitor all related resources efficiently.
Learning Objectives
By completing this lab, you will be able to:
- Understand the importance of using resource groups to organize Azure resources.
- Create a resource group in a specified region and subscription.
- Configure settings to manage the lifecycle of resources (e.g., deletion options).
- Set the stage for subsequent lab deployments that rely on centralized, consistent resource management.
Exam Relevance
The skills you learn in this lab align closely with the following Azure certification exams:
- AZ-104 (Azure Administrator): Demonstrates your ability to manage Azure identities, governance, and resources.
- AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect): Reinforces your understanding of resource organization and governance within Azure infrastructure design.
