Lab Overview

This lab is designed to guide participants through the process of relocating a virtual machine (VM) within the Azure environment.

In this lab, you’ll practice the steps required to move a VM and its associated resources to a different resource group, which is useful for organizing or restructuring resources within Azure.

Participants will gain hands-on experience with the Azure portal, learning how to navigate the interface and execute the move operation efficiently.

Navigate the Azure portal to locate and manage virtual machines.
Execute the steps to move a VM to a different resource group, including selecting the destination resource group, validating the move, and confirming the transfer.
Verify the successful transfer of the VM to the new resource group and understand the implications of the move on associated resources and dependencies..

Autoscaling Metrics

Host metrics: CPU, memory, disk (no agent needed).
Guest metrics: Custom counters (Azure Diagnostics Extension).
App Insights: Application-level performance metrics.
Rules: Min/max capacity, scale-out/in thresholds, cooldown periods.

Autoscale rules use metrics from Load Balancer, Diagnostics, or App Insights.
